So why wooden floors ?
Wooden floors will capture the natural beauty of a room, they are the way people are moving forward and are proving to add good value onto your property as well as being a superb quality to have in your home.
You will find wooden floors last nearly forever, and are very hard wearing, the also great positive point to a wooden floor is if you buy a solid wooden floor, you can have it re sanded and sealed to its former beauty even after hundreds of years!
The next big thing taking place, is underfloor heating, you can now buy hardwood floors in which will sustain underfloor heating, this will actually give your room better heating insulation and will actually be stored under your floor. This also will add value to a property alongside giving great warmth.
Types of Wooden floors?
People often get confused on the difference types of different wooden floors so I am going to give a brief explanation about the different types of wooden floors:
Block flooring – These are made up of either parquet blocks, mosaic blocks, square basket blocks, and lots of other types they are all in a block format and comes in huge amounts of different species we offer lots of sanding for such as:
| Cherry floor sanding | Beech floor sanding | Maple floor sanding |
| Teak floor sanding | Oak floor sanding | Walnut floor sanding |
| Jatoba floor sanding | Wenge floor sanding | Merbau floor sanding |
| Iroko floor sanding | | |
And other Species such as redwoods and more.
Block flooring is a stuck down floor and will be glued to the concrete or chip board or a suitable sub floor in which it will be firmly fixed to last for tens of years.
Engineered flooring – Engineered floors are not completely solid they are built up of a wear layer this is the only solid piece of the wood so the top wear layer will be the engineered wood species and can be a range of sizes, there will then be another layer underneath this and it will be a type of plywood.
This type of flooring will come in different size boards and they will click lock into the other boards to complete the floor leaving no gaps, more money you spend the better engineered board you will get with bigger wear layers.
Those are the main two types of wooden flooring that are used but there are also other different types for both of them, for example:
Strip Solid Wood Flooring,Versace solid wood flooring,Overlay Strips Flooring, Wide board Solid Wood Flooring,Solid Board Flooring and many other types.
